Land Application

Healthier Soil

Biosolids are a product of the wastewater treatment process. They are rich in nutrients and organic material that can be used to help crops grow or to remediate damaged soils. At Lambourne Environmental we specialize in land application, turning biosolids into a valuable resource. We take the biosolids we extract from lagoons during desludging and have it analysed by an accredited laboratory to determine whether it passes strict guidelines for land application. If the biosolids are suitable and will enrich the soil, we work with local landowners and the provincial regulator, to appropriately apply and incorporate the biosolids to the land.

This form of desludging benefits municipalities as they can perform economical and efficient lagoon maintenance, helping keep waterways clean. It also benefits local agriculture providing a nutrient-rich organic product ideal for crop growth. Lambourne is proud to be a key part of a circular economy, where we facilitate the beneficial reuse of what would otherwise be a waste product.
