You wouldn't clean your room with lights off. Proper sludge removal and lagoon maintenance is no different. Lagoon surveys are an important step that allows our clients to understand how much sludge is in their lagoons, where it is located, and its qualities. Once we have this information we can create an accurate cost and an efficient plan of action to perform any needed desludging.
To accurately survey a lagoon, we map out the lagoon perimeter, take total lagoon depths, and measure the distance to the top of the sludge blanket using precision survey equipment. Sludge samples are taken for lab analysis and qualitative assessments of lagoon infrastructure and conditions are made.
The raw survey data is input into CAD software to generate sludge volume estimates at the various survey locations. By the end of the process we know how much sludge there is, where the buildups are located, and what the sludge's qualities are. This allows us to prepare accurate cost estimates and efficient desludging plans.
As lagoon surveys are a vital part of the budgeting process, we perform this service for our clients so that they can plan accordingly for their annual expenditures. The survey information can also be used in conjunction with a post dredging survey to validate quantities of sludge removed.
Caring about the environment means caring about the people within it as well. We couldn’t call ourselves trusted experts in lagoon and biosolids management if we didn’t make the health and safety of each employee a matter of primary importance.
