Dewatering

Expanding Sludge Management Possibilities

Sometimes sludge is immediately suitable for land application. Sometimes it isn’t. Dewatering sludges removes a significant amount of the water from the solid material. This process opens up additional disposal possibilities, reduces transportation costs, and allows for further treatment of the dewatered solids into products that can be beneficially reused. Whether dewatered mechanically through centrifuges or belt presses, or passively through drying beds and Geotubes, proper polymer selection and dosing is critical to the success of any dewatering operation.

At Lambourne Environmental we understand that a properly dewatered product expands the possibilities for sludge management.

What Are Geotubes®?

Quality matters! Lambourne uses Geotubes® in its passive dewatering projects. Geotubes® are a specially engineered geotextile that confines solids, while allowing water to permeate through the microscopic pores of the material. As the water drains the solids continue to densify and consolidate. Geotubes® are clean, provide exceptional filtrate water quality, contain odours, and will, over time, provide a much drier product than other dewatering methods. Geotubes® are an ideal dewatering solution where sufficient space and time are available for the Geotubes® to work their magic!

Health and Safety

Caring about the environment means caring about the people within it as well. We couldn’t call ourselves trusted experts in lagoon and biosolids management if we didn’t make the health and safety of each employee a matter of primary importance.
